Walleye Hardbaits
Rapala Tail Dancer
Rapala Tail Dancers are by far our favorite walleye trolling lure.  When fishing on Houghton Lake we use TD5 and TD7 in all depths of water.  We run the TD5 back 50 to 65 foot when fishing 5 to 9 foot of water and we run the TD7 back 38 to 50 foot in the same conditions at a troll speed of 2 to 2.6 mph.  Blue and white is are favorite color during the daylight and we switch to the Trout color for night trolling.
Thunderstick Jr

We troll Storm ThunderStick MadFlash (model DJM 3 1/2" 5/16oz) and the Original Thunderstick Jr in the colors shown back 18 to 20 feet behind the boat.  The bait produces the most fish when it's placed in our front rod holders which puts the lure about 3 foot behind the boat.  Try it on Houghton Lake when fishing 5 to 9 foot of water.

Berkley Frenzy Firestick Minnow 3 1/2"
Berkley Frenzy Firestick Minnow baits are another great tolling bait when targeting walleyes in 6 to 10 foot of water.  We run our Firestick Minnows 25 to 28 foot back on Houghton Lake and run them at from 2 to 2.5 mph.
